Time-bound

I’m not yet ready for this moment to become a memory but I know I can’t rest.

There’s a greater unknown in the future but I have not even decoded the present.

I’m too slow to move on, too fast to get a hold on my thoughts;

So I’m pausing time in my mind, and trying to memorise everything that make this moment worth living for.

Sweet Poison

You were the moment that took my breath away; but I can’t ask you to stay.

There’s so much I want to hear; but don’t say those words, you make me weak in my knees even when our eyes meet.

You’re the dream I still haven’t woken up from,

the one I see even when I’m awake!

You’re the beginning to the end that I can’t handle

You’re poison to me but I want to have you anyway!

Memory Lane

When I’ll look back at my life and see you standing next to me, I’ll know I was loved.

And with a smile, I’ll go back to where it all began and find myself all over again, without you.

I’ll feel the places one more time, and let in what I was then too blinded to find.

I’ll trudge the roads that I once measured by how soon they led to you, till they become the paths that I walk to re-discover myself.

There’ll be a faint remembrance in everything I’ll lay my eyes on;

And a fleeting warmth of your presence in the familiar terrains;

But I won’t stop, till I solve my quest to find the best of me.

Because I know I was loved, and you had a piece of me, but I want to get back all of me.

Scarfs and Scars

I match my scarfs with my attires,

some with colors and some with patterns.

Like I do my scars, with my memories

of places that I had dared to tread

where I found strength and a rush in my head

Like marks on my body,

that remind me of my journey,

and how worthy of them the destinations can be.

Now I match my scarfs with attires I wear;

Some with colors and some with patterns.

Window Glass

I sit and stare

through the window glass.

It’s crystal clear,

except it’s not;

there’s a blurring fog.

The eyes try to see something

that I still can’t find.

They wander, like aimless travelers,

on paths, near and far,

that seem to lead

somewhere I’m not.

I sit and stare.

I’m right where I always was.

Meandering Mind

My mind sets on its own journey,

swimming depths of oceans, enduring sandstorms in lonesome deserts…

My boisterous mind runs faster than me and goes farther than I reach

It pushes me to gather pace and chase it down the unending space…

And then, almost without warning, it stops to reflect.

It wants to see its darkest shades.

The hues of life have faded over time

but left their imprints on the walls, like an ancient decorated shrine.

Springing back in action, it comes alive;

Only this time..

it strolls in the alleys and lanes that had forgotten the color of daylight

It’s seeking answers that are waiting at the end of the mazes that the mind itself designed!
